What makes The Sims land
- The game logic is the joke — meters, whims, and needs that must be met.
- The watcher is a real presence. Somebody is deciding things.
- Legacy structure gives you generations to play with.
How far it goes
Sims 2 through 4, neighbourhoods and households, careers and aspirations, legacy and generational challenges, romance and friendship bars, and the whole SimLit tradition. Ships between adult Sims of any configuration, plus x-reader as a Sim or as the watcher. Tropes including the watcher's interference, legacy generations, career-versus-family conflicts, and the pool-ladder joke. Every character is an adult.

- Can the watcher be a character?
- Yes, and it's the most interesting thing you can do here — a Sim who has worked out that someone is arranging their life.
- Is any of this public?
- No. SecretPen has no public feed, no community rankings and no sharing — there is no mechanism by which one reader can see another reader's stories. Everything you write stays in your account.
- How explicit does it get?
- As explicit as you ask for. There is no fade to black and no lecture. The only limits are the hard lines in our content guidelines: everyone is an adult, nobody real, nothing illegal.
- Do I have to pay to try it?
- No. You can write your first story free. Paid plans exist for people who write a lot of them.
