What makes Fae land
- Every promise is load-bearing. Have him say something technically true that the reader clocks two pages before the narrator does.
- Names, gifts, food and thanks all carry weight. Let a small courtesy cost something.
- Beauty should be slightly wrong. Too still, too symmetrical, eyes that don't blink on schedule.
How far it goes
